Restaurant Tips!

Since we have been keeping a tighter reign on spending, eating out is something we don't do very often anymore.  When we DO get to eat out, having coupons/gift certificates with us is crucial to keeping cost down.  Where do we get coupons and gift certificates, you ask?

  1. Set up a new email address specifically for coupons/deals.  Anytime you sign up for something, use that address.  This ensures that your personal inbox and important emails won't be crowded out.
  2. Sign up to get on the email list of your favorite restaurants through their websites, and of course enter that birthdate so they can treat you well around that time of year!
  3. Restaurants.com is another resource to get gift certificates for less.  Read the fine print.. sometimes they require a minimum order to be able to use the certificate.
  4. Clipper Magazine.  (I'm not sure what regions they cover), but we receive these locally.  They are full of restaurant and other coupons.
What is spurred this post on?  Free appetizer to Carrabbas, $10 and a B1G1 burger to Ted Montana's, Free lettuce wraps to PF Changs, and now today a $30 gift certificate (birthday goody) to Wild Ginger, just to name a few.

Next time you head out for a special date or night out with friends, take those coupons with you and spend a little less!

  1. Wow, you mentioning Carrabas reminds me of good times when we lived down south in Georgia. I haven't eaten there since. I miss that restaurant. We don't eat out much either because with the addition of each child, the meal cost increased. But when we do, we always use a coupon. My daughter's school sells books from www.entertainment.com and it's filled with good coupons for everything from eating out to family fun activities. The cost of buying it was covered after we used only a few grocery coupons inside. Another way to save money eating out is to buy coupons from ebay.com or else gift cards on ebay (reputable sellers only). If you have a specific place you like to go regularly, this can save you some money, the caution being...ask the coupon's expiration date. My sister buys Home Depot gift cards to save money on purchases she knows she has to make there. Julie
